Staycation Spotlight: Opulence by the sea at Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi

Nestled in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s Marina Village, Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi harmoniously blends the opulence of Arabic and Turkish heritage with contemporary luxury. Having graced the cityscape since its opening in late 2022, this architectural marvel doesn’t just offer accommodations; it promises an experience that will alter your perspective on luxury.

The majestic hotel serves as a gateway to the sea with its lavish offering of over 500 rooms, splendid pools that beckon you to unwind, and fitness amenities that cater to both body and soul. The result is one of the most expansive and luxurious properties in the entire capital.

Upon our arrival, the very sight of the magnificent property enthralled us. The playful greeting from a statue of silver dolphins set the tone for the magic that awaited us. And let’s be honest, an installation this captivating deserves its moment in the spotlight – or rather, on our Instagram feeds.

The lobby, an entryway to enchantment, offers a mesmerising sight. The vast glass windows unveil a panoramic vista of the deep blue sea, a view that feels almost surreal. Above, a chandelier inspired by the gentle cascade of water droplets hung from a ceiling reminiscent of a seashell, adding an exquisite touch of elegance. A live cello performance served as a soundtrack to this symphony of luxury.

Relaxing Rooms

As we made our way to our accommodations, perched on the 34th floor, we knew we were in for a treat. The Rixos Premium Room – Corniche View was a testament to luxury, offering a balcony that seemed to merge seamlessly with the turquoise sea beyond. Enhancing the room’s allure were its indulgent features, including a generous 40-inch TV and strategically placed mirrors that added an element of vanity and sophistication. The king-sized bed, a haven of comfort, whispered promises of restful nights. But the pool called and we answered.

Descending to the pool area was an experience in itself. The glass elevators treated us to a cinematic view, revealing the sea’s beauty in all its glory. And once we arrived, the array of pools beckoned, each more inviting than the last. Plus, the vast beach lay ahead too. 

Apart from pools catering to different guests at the hotel, the signature Rixy Kids Club was also located at the property. This haven for the little ones ensured parents find solace in adult pursuits while their children engage in curated activities and endless fun.

Epicurean Delights

Turquoise, the all-day dining restaurant, is a gastronomic odyssey. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are an orchestration of flavours from across the globe. Imagine a buffet that spoils you for choice, from omelette theatres to an array of artisanal bread, fresh fruits, and charcuterie. Sushi, live cooking pasta, succulent meats, vibrant salads – it’s a culinary kaleidoscope that caters to every palate. 

For a more intimate rendezvous, the People’s Restaurant beckons with its à la carte offering. Salmon, succulent shrimps, and marvellous meats danced on the menu, and we found ourselves at its seafood night, where the ocean’s treasures graced our spread. The outdoor bar and shisha lounge at People’s Restaurant offers a moment of reprieve, where you can unwind amidst cooling fans and indulge in the finest concoctions. 

And while the culinary journey at Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi is lovely, only limited options are available at the moment. But Rixos Marina doesn’t rest. Plans for two new restaurants, including a steakhouse and an Italian culinary haven, are already underway, promising even more gastronomic delights.
