The long-awaited return of Christina Aguilera to the UAE will no longer go ahead. The American superstar’s Abu Dhabi concert, which had been scheduled to take place at Etihad Arena on Friday, 25 September 2026, has officially been cancelled.

Ticketmaster confirmed the news in a notice to ticket holders, stating: “The Christina Aguilera concert, scheduled on 25 September at Etihad Arena, will unfortunately no longer take place.”

Ticketmaster confirmed that refunds will be processed automatically to the original payment method within 21 working days, meaning ticket holders do not need to submit a separate request. No reason was given for the cancellation, and no replacement date has been announced.

The show had already been rescheduled once. Aguilera was originally due to perform in Abu Dhabi in April 2026, before the concert was moved to September due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East. The Etihad Arena appearance would have followed her sold-out show in the capital at Saadiyat Nights in 2025, where she took to the stage as part of the popular open-air concert series.

For those unfamiliar with her career, Aguilera rose to fame after appearing on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, where she performed alongside future stars including Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell and Ryan Gosling.

Her breakthrough came in 1999 with the release of “Genie in a Bottle,” which became an international hit and established Aguilera as one of the defining pop stars of her generation. A string of chart successes followed, including “Beautiful,” “Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You),” “Dirty,” “What a Girl Wants,” and the Moulin Rouge collaboration “Lady Marmalade.”

Her career has also extended beyond music. Aguilera starred opposite Cher in the 2010 musical film Burlesque and has collected numerous accolades over the years, including five Grammy Awards. She also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In a wider shake-up of the region’s events calendar, the cancellation of Christina Aguilera’s Abu Dhabi concert was announced on the same day that OFFLIMITS Music Festival 2026 was also cancelled in the capital. Meanwhile, the inaugural Esports Nations Cup in Riyadh has been postponed from November 2026 to November 2027, following an assessment of the wider regional situation

Further information regarding ticketing and any next steps should be communicated directly through the original ticketing provider.
