As temperatures rise across the UAE, Abu Dhabi is turning up the action indoors. Abu Dhabi Summer Sports 2026 is officially kicking off at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, offering an air-conditioned playground for fitness fans, families, and athletes of all ages. Running from 6 June to 23 August 2026, this is the fifth edition of the region’s premier indoor sports festival.
Whether you’re into CrossFit, chess, football or padel, there’s something for everyone under one massive roof. With a whopping 52 courts and dedicated activity zones, Abu Dhabi Summer Sports 2026 is designed to keep you moving, engaged, and energised, no matter the heat outside.
The festival covers a wide range of disciplines, from basketball, cricket, and volleyball to more niche favourites like archery, dodgeball and judo. Abu Dhabi Summer Sports 2026 introduces 10 new sports, including e-gaming, VR/AR, judo, boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, handball, pickleball, and cycling. These exciting additions join a lineup of popular returning sports, now with expanded facilities, including additional fields, courts, and pitches for football, basketball, padel, running, badminton, tennis, table tennis, cricket, chess, fitness, and an obstacle course.
Beyond competition, the event fosters community and wellbeing. Expect boxing workshops, sports clinics, yoga sessions, weightlifting demos, and expert-led training programmes throughout the summer. Families are also well catered for, with interactive kids’ zones and indoor play areas, making it a perfect destination to beat the boredom and the heat in one go.
The 2026 edition will feature a diverse range of activities and experiences, from competitive tournaments and fitness zones to dedicated family areas, children’s camps, and an innovative Community Village, designed to engage a broader audience of residents and families and support the UAE’s vision of fostering a healthier and more active society. Dedicated themed days, including International Yoga Day, Emirati Women’s Day, International Chess Day, and Emirati Seniors Day, will further expand the programme’s community reach.
