The arrival of the cooler months makes beach season particularly appealing, whether you want calm waters for swimming, sports and watersports, restaurants within walking distance or a secluded escape far from the city. From Saadiyat and Yas Island to the quieter shores of Al Dhafra, these are 12 Abu Dhabi beaches to know right now.
Al Bahar Beach
For a beach day with plenty happening beyond the shoreline, Al Bahar is one of the capital’s liveliest choices. Set along a 600-metre stretch of the Corniche, the beachfront combines soft sand with basketball courts, beach football, an outdoor gym and family-friendly leisure facilities. AquaFun, billed by Al Bahar as Abu Dhabi’s largest inflatable water park, adds another reason to visit. Once hunger strikes, the promenade has around 20 cafés and restaurants, making this an easy option for families who want swimming, sport and dining in one place.
Al Bateen Beach
Set in one of Abu Dhabi’s quieter residential districts, Al Bateen Beach is a relaxed alternative to the busier Corniche. The Blue Flag-certified shoreline stretches for 800 metres and looks across to Hudayriyat Island, with calm waters suited to swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. In 2026, Eagle Hills Properties has confirmed redevelopment of the island and construction activity is underway, so the island may not be accessible.
Mamsha Beach
For a Saadiyat beach day with restaurants only steps away, Mamsha Beach is one of the easiest choices. The white-sand shoreline sits beside Mamsha Al Saadiyat’s popular promenade, so a swim can be followed by coffee, lunch or dinner without leaving the neighbourhood. The beach has hundreds of sunbeds, private cabanas and clear water, while its proximity to Saadiyat Cultural District adds another dimension to a day out. Mirfa Beach

Yas Beach
Surrounded by mangroves and calm Arabian Gulf waters, Yas Beach offers a softer contrast to Yas Island’s theme parks and entertainment venues. The setting suits families, couples and anyone looking to spend a few hours between a lounger, the sand and the infinity pool. Private chalets, beachfront dining and water-based activities add variety without overwhelming the laid-back atmosphere. Guests staying at participating Yas Island hotels can receive complimentary access, while day passes are available for other visitors.
