Vinyl Souk debuts in Abu Dhabi with a cool cultural event  

Taking place on 13 January, it celebrates old-school Polaroids and vinyl. 

Do you love the sound of vinyl, or the feel of Polaroids? Whether you grew up with them or not – we’re not judging – here’s how to celebrate old-school arts and culture. Vinyl Souk DXB is famous for its cool events in Dubai, and it’s now making its debut in Abu Dhabi. Vinyl Souk X The Alley is coming to Miza Abu Dhabi on Saturday, 13 January, and is filled with exciting experiences. 

Vinyl Souk X The Alley combines art, film, music and photography. The event includes a market, workshops, and interactive experiences that are focused on analog music and homegrown art and craft brands. 

Getting It Back: The Story of Cymande is having its UAE premiere at Vinyl Souk X The Alley. Vinyl sets will be spun by DJs including Frezidante, Jayesh and Tarik Omar. Look out for the live screen-printing station, and artist Tulip Hazbar’s prints on T-shirts and tote bags.

If you’re looking for a unique souvenir, check out the whacky and wonderful workshops. The Polaroid Emulsion Lift Workshop by Gulf Photo Plus gives visitors the chance to have their portrait taken. The Art for All workshop is aimed at adults and children, and includes acrylic painting of records, canvas, emboss art and 3D face masks with recycled material. The Photography Workshop: Introduction to Film Photography teaches analog photography techniques, from selecting a camera to developing images. 

Vinyl Souk X The Alley encourages visitors to stay for the day. Food and drink are also available, and includes coffee from Hues of Aura, burgers from Mo’s Joint, ice cream from Ripple and sweet treats from Zen Chocolatier.
