The UAE capital is set to welcome a new kind of cultural destination. 1927, a private members’ club dedicated to film, music and the art of gathering in Abu Dhabi, will open at Cinemacity Starlight in Marina Mall, bringing a more intimate and considered approach to the capital’s entertainment scene.
Rather than operating as a traditional venue, 1927 has been designed as a cultural home. The concept brings together curated programming, dining and social experiences within an elegant, design-led environment. It aims to appeal to those who value atmosphere, conversation and the sense of being part of something thoughtfully curated.
Inside, the house unfolds across a collection of distinct yet connected spaces, each adding a different layer to the experience. At the centre is the Dining Area, which anchors the venue’s food and beverage offering. This is complemented by a relaxed Lounge, designed for easy conversations, late evenings and lingering over drinks.
Elsewhere, The Cabaret offers a more intimate setting for live performances, while The Guild serves as a social hub where members can meet, mingle, and connect. For those seeking a more discreet experience, The Vault offers a secluded space that reinforces the sense of privacy and exclusivity running through the concept.
Before becoming a fully private members-only destination, 1927 will open its doors to the public for a limited time. From Thursday, 30 April 2026, the venue will welcome guests throughout May, offering an all-access preview ahead of its official membership launch.
During this preview period, visitors will be able to explore the space, discover the menu and experience a film at 1927. The idea is to offer a glimpse into the atmosphere that will soon be reserved for members, allowing guests to move between cinema, music, dining and conversation in a seamless flow.
Every element of 1927 has been designed to encourage people to gather, linger and connect. Following the public preview, the venue will transition into a private members’ house, with access granted through application.
