A new documentary called Disney Worldbuilders is releasing soon.
It will offer a glimpse into the upcoming Disneyland Abu Dhabi.
It may also provide a sneak peek on the exact location of the theme park.

Ever since Disneyland Abu Dhabi was announced, everyone has been wondering what the new theme park will actually look like. While the resort won’t open for several years, fans can now get their first glimpse of what’s to come thanks to a brand-new documentary called Disney Worldbuilders.
Disney Worldbuilders takes viewers behind the scenes of Disney Imagineering, showcasing the new theme parks, lands and attractions currently in development around the world — and Disneyland Abu Dhabi is one of the featured projects. The feature-length documentary offers an early look at Disney’s seventh theme park resort and its first-ever destination in the Middle East, as construction plans move forward on Yas Island.
One standout moment in the trailer shows Disney CEO Bob Iger standing on what appears to be the future Disneyland Abu Dhabi site in Yas North, giving fans one of their first behind-the-scenes glimpses of the landmark development. The documentary will premiere at Disney’s D23 fan event on 16 August before streaming exclusively on Disney+ from 20 August.
Directed by Oscar and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Leslie Iwerks, Disney Worldbuilders also features interviews with some of Disney’s biggest creative names, including James Cameron, Jon Favreau, Kevin Feige, Jennifer Lee, Pete Docter, Dave Filoni, Jared Bush and Disney Experiences chairman Josh D’Amaro, offering an inside look at how Disney’s immersive worlds are brought to life.
Disneyland Abu Dhabi is a major milestone for the entertainment giant, marking its first theme park resort in the Middle East. Developed in partnership with Miral, the resort is expected to open on Yas Island between 2030 and 2033. Spanning up to 200 hectares, it will join the destination’s growing collection of attractions.
While Disney is keeping details of the rides and themed lands under wraps, the company has already confirmed that Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be its most technologically advanced resort yet, blending cutting-edge experiences with Emirati-inspired design. For now, Disney Worldbuilders is the closest thing to a backstage pass, offering the first real insight into the vision behind what could become one of the world’s most exciting new Disney destinations.
