Abu Dhabi is known as a destination that blurs the lines between wellness, nature and lifestyle. From waterfront promenades to outdoor training spaces, the capital has steadily built a reputation for offering more than just conventional gyms and fitness clubs. Soon, it will welcome another major addition with the opening of Oxygen Sports Garden.
Set for a prime location near the Western Mangrove Canal, the upcoming development is designed to make the most of one of Abu Dhabi’s most scenic settings. Surrounded by coastal views and natural greenery, the project aims to create a destination where architecture and the outdoors harmonise, offering a fresh take on the city’s evolving wellness scene.
Spanning more than 118,000 square metres, Oxygen Sports Garden is expected to be one of the largest sports and fitness-focused developments in the region. Developed by Oxygen Gym in partnership with Scaffold Group, the concept goes beyond the traditional health club model. Instead, it is being positioned as a full lifestyle hub where movement, recovery, socialising and dining all come together in one expansive setting.
Among the planned highlights are a premium men’s club and a fully equipped ladies’ club, both designed to deliver high-performance training environments with a strong focus on comfort and experience. The wider masterplan also includes an outdoor coastal sports zone, giving visitors the chance to train outdoors while making the most of the surrounding landscape.
But Oxygen Sports Garden is not only about fitness. The destination is also expected to feature luxury dining concepts, adding a hospitality element that encourages guests to stay long after their workouts end. The aim is to create a place that feels as suited to a morning training session as it does to an afternoon catch-up or an evening meal.
What makes the project especially appealing is its broad community focus. While serious athletes and bodybuilding enthusiasts will undoubtedly find plenty to draw them in, the destination is also being designed for families, casual gym-goers and those simply looking for a wellness-led day out in Abu Dhabi.
An official opening date has not yet been revealed, and the project is expected to launch in phases as different elements are completed.
