Jo Koy’s comedy show has been rescheduled for September

The third time’s the charm – hopefully.

You may know Jo Koy as Chelsea Handler’s new boyfriend, but we know him as a comedian who will have you ROFL. The Filipino-American talent was meant to kick off his Funny Is Funny World Tour in Dubai back in December 2021, but his show was postponed due to “unforeseen circumstances”. As for his rescheduled performance on 14 May? Cancelled, this time due to the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Now, in a case of ‘third time’s the charm’, Koy will take to the stage at Coca-Cola Arena on Saturday, 3 September.

The anticipation is real, with event management company Blu Blood promising a night of all-new, never-seen-before material. And considering Jo Koy has mastered the art of everything from impersonations and stand-up to highly relatable humour, fans are guaranteed an unforgettable evening with this one. “I left my heart in Dubai and I cannot wait to get back to share my stories,” he says. “Dubai is going to be one of the first to see my new material from my Netflix special before it even gets aired in September.”

As one of today’s premier stand-up comics, Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing at a Las Vegas coffee house to selling out the world’s most prestigious venues including Radio City Music Hall (New York), Chase Center (San Francisco), The Forum (Los Angeles), Mall of Asia Arena (Manila), and ICC Theatre (Sydney).

In 2021, Koy released his first autobiography, Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo to rave reviews. In this funny and moving memoir, Koy uncovers the stories behind his stand-up: the conflict, the drama and the laughter as he struggles to find his place in the entertainment industry, his home and around the world.

Koy will next be seen on the silver screen in the Universal Pictures comedy film Easter Sunday. The feature film is loosely based on Koy’s life experiences and will be set around a Filipino family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday.

Tickets to his upcoming show are available from jokoy.com, coca-cola-arena.com, Dubai Calendar, Platinumlist, and BookMyShow, with prices starting at AED 180.
