R&B singer Ashanti to headline F1 after-party
The Grammy Award-winning singer will perform at the Rich List Royal Terrace after Sunday’s race.
With just days to go, the F1 weekend is taking it up a gear. The latest musical star to be announced is Ashanti. The American R&B singer is set to mesmerise the capital with her sultry voice and chart-topping back catalogue.
Ashanti hails from New York, and was signed to Murder Inc Records. She first came onto the music scene with some killer collaborations, which include What’s Luv? with Fat Joe and Always on Time with Ja Rule. We’re hoping she performs those signature songs and her solo hits such as Foolish, Happy and Rock Wit U. Over her career, she has won eight Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards and one Grammy Award.
The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from 17 to 20 November. In addition to Ashanti, there will be a stellar line-up coming to Etihad Park for the Yasalam After-Race Concerts. This is the first time in eight years that the Yas Marina Circuit is increasing capacity, so that it can accommodate more people.
The performers include British rap artist Dave and R&B megastar Usher on 17 November, Swedish House Mafia on 18 November, and Kendrick Lamar on 19 November. The concerts culminate with rock legends Def Leppard on 20 November.
