Catch British soul star Seal in Sharjah

The Kiss From A Rose singer is performing in the UAE on 11 March.

Do the opening harmonies to the ballad Kiss From a Rose give you the feels? Well, you’ll be excited to hear that Seal, who is behind the hit song, is coming to the UAE. Fans of the British soul singer can catch him at Sharjah’s Al Majaz Amphitheatre on 11 March.

Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel, best known simply as Seal, was born in Paddington, London. He started out singing in local clubs and bars, and was part of a British funk band, Push.

Seal’s first two solo albums were created with the former Buggles frontman and famous British producer, Trevor Horn (aka the guy who created Video Killed The Radio Star). Today, Seal has sold more than 20 million records worldwide, and won accolades including Brit Awards, Ivor Novello Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.

We’re hoping that Seal sings his hit singles including CrazyKiller (with its catchy ‘solitary brother’ refrain) and, of course, Kiss From a Rose (with its sweeping romantic imagery).

Kiss From a Rose was written in 1987, and first released in 1994. It wasn’t until the song was re-released for the 1995 Batman Forever film, which starred Val Kilmer and Nicole Kidman, that it became a worldwide hit. It’s hard to believe that Seal felt so embarrassed by the song, he threw the tape recording into a corner. It went on to make him a household name, and won three Grammy Awards.

If you want to see Seal in Sharjah, tickets are available now. Tickets start from AED 250. Visitors under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Get the feels.
