RAKtopia: Ras Al Khaimah launches its first music and wellness festival

Tickets are now on sale for the festival.

Music festivals aren’t just for summer. Ras Al Khaimah is launching RAKtopia, the first music and wellness festival in the Emirate, which will be taking place from 22 to 23 October, 2022. The festival will happen on Longbeach Campground, a 300-meter stretch of beach, and brings together a cool line-up of performers and classes.

RAKtopia Ambassador Allaoua Gaham is an experienced yogi who teaches animal flow yoga – that’s when you learn primal-inspired movements – and he’ll create a yoga-meets-breakdancing workout. Wellness enthusiast, Sarah White, offers guided meditations that help you to gain a better understanding of your body.

Personal trainer and holistic health coach, Tamara Khoury, will create Pilates classes. Plus, there will be jam sessions with Charl Chaka, which combine music and dance. If you want to get creative, there will also be ceramic and mandala workshops.

RAKtopia brings together local talent, as there will be DJs spinning tunes and artists showcasing work inspired by Ras Al Khaimah. The DJs include NU, one of the most-streamed electronic music artists; LUM, an Argentinian electronic music DJ; and 2Third, a rising musical duo in the region.

Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said: “As we continue to keep wellness and mental wellbeing at the forefront of our tourism strategy, RAKtopia is about nurturing communities and creating soulful connections. Through this co-creative experience, we aim to foster an inclusive space for ongoing wellness, expression and self-exploration in the Emirate.”

RAKtopia tickets are now available. The two-person early bird package starts from AED 1,345 per couple, and includes an overnight stay for two guests and a two-day festival pass. The individual early bird package costs AED 350 for day one and AED 180 for day two. The event starts runs from midday to 3am on 22 October, and from 6am to 7pm on 23 October.

A sucker for a good story, if you invite Kohinoor to a gallery, comedy night, new restaurant, hiking trip, cycle ride, pool day or just about any activity, she’ll probably say yes – that is if she isn’t busy planning her next adventure.
