The Nike LeBron arrives as the basketball icon prepares for a landmark 24th NBA season.

LeBron James has achieved almost everything there is to achieve on a basketball court. Now, the NBA icon is adding another chapter to his formidable sneaker legacy with the reveal of the Nike LeBron 24, his latest signature basketball shoe.

The launch comes at a significant moment for James. The 41-year-old is preparing to enter his record 24th NBA season, having recently joined the Philadelphia 76ers following eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. His career statistics place him firmly among basketball’s greatest players. James is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, with 43,440 career points, as well as a four-time NBA champion, four-time league MVP and four-time NBA Finals MVP. He also has three Olympic gold medals and a record 22 NBA All-Star selections.

His influence, however, extends far beyond the court. James has been synonymous with Nike for almost his entire professional career. The partnership began before he had played a single NBA game, when Nike signed the teenager from Akron to a record-setting rookie endorsement deal on 22 May 2003. In 2015, the relationship became even more significant when Nike agreed to a lifetime deal with James, reportedly the first of its kind in the company’s history.

More than two decades later, that collaboration has produced the LeBron 24. The new model marks a notable change in direction for the long-running signature line, with James declaring on Instagram: “Oh and yeah The 24s on the way! The Lightest LeBron’s EVER 👀.”

The reduction in weight comes primarily from a newly developed material called KingKnit. The upper combines two different knit patterns to provide structure without adding unnecessary bulk, while carbon fibre reinforcement through the midfoot provides additional support. The sole has also been slimmed down compared with previous LeBron models, creating a lower and more streamlined silhouette.

The crown motif associated with James remains part of the design, but is incorporated more subtly than on the LeBron 23. Small Nike Swooshes feature towards the heel, James’ LJ branding appears on the tongue, and the translucent outsole continues the royal symbolism that has become synonymous with his sneaker line.

Leading the collection is the Shooting Star colourway, dressed predominantly in vivid blue with black and gold detailing. Further versions revealed alongside it include metallic silver, yellow and pink designs, plus a multicoloured edition inspired by Chinese New Year.

The Nike LeBron 24 Shooting Star is scheduled to launch on 17 November 2026, priced at USD 200, with further colourways set to follow.
