Nike by You x Saeedah Haque drop a limited-edition collection
The British Bengali designer is famous for her streetwear-inspired abayas.
Nike is famous for its sneakers, but is mixing things up with its latest collaboration. Nike by You x Saeedah Haque have launched a new collaboration. So, if you’re after some fashionable abayas, here’s what you need to know.
Not only will Nike by You x Saeedah Haque’s collection drop on 11 August, but it is also accompanied by a special talk. At NikeTown London on Oxford Street, there will be a panel talk hosted by Zainab Jiwa, and guests include Saeedah and Iqra Ismail. The event also includes exclusive access to the limited collection.
The British Bengali designer Saeedah is based in North London but is already catching global attention. When she could not find an abaya that fit her personal style, she decided to make her own. She learnt about fashion from interning at brands including luxury bridal house Sabyasachi Mukherjee, and the first London Modest Fashion Week at the Saatchi Gallery.
Now, Saeedah is famous for her abayas, which combine the traditional garment with a streetwear aesthetic. She has made modest wear fashionable by adding stylish silhouettes. Plus, she prides herself on using ethically sourced fabrics, which are made to order by herself.
If you’re a Nike fan, the brand recently teamed up with the American rapper Travis Scott. The Scott x Nike collaboration includes the Utopia Nike Air Force 1 trainers, which tie in with his new album, Utopia. The trainers sold out three days after they launched.
