There’ll be plenty of cheer including Christmas markets, carols by candlelight and a tree lighting ceremony.
Have you been wishing you could return to Expo? Well, Christmas has come early, as you can return to the site for delicious dining experiences, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 screenings, and an exciting Christmas-inspired experience. Expo City Winter Wonderland runs from 23 November 2022 to 8 January 2023, and transforms the site into a festive, family-friendly experience.
Expo City Winter Wonderland spans Mobility District, the Surreal water feature and Al Wasl Plaza. The area will be home to chalet-style Christmas markets, traditional fairground games, a letter-to-Santa station and pine trees. Plus, there’ll be plenty of ways to get merry, as there’ll be hot chocolate, mince pies and, of course, mulled drinks.
Expo City Winter hosts plenty of Christmas events: Mrs Claus Christmas Show returns from 20 to 29 December, Carols by Candlelight runs from 20 to 25 December, and there are nightly projection shows.
Add some sparkle to the season, and head down for the tree lighting ceremony on 9 December. The glittering 52-foot tree Christmas tree is a must-visit sight, as it is expected to take centre stage in the dome.
Winter Camps have been created for little ones aged between six and 12 years old. Running from 12 to 23 December, it includes action-packed activities across the site: Terra – The Sustainability focuses on climate change, and Alif – The Mobility Pavilion explores innovation.
It’s not just kids that are catered for, but four-legged friends are welcome, too. The dog-friendly destination has designated stations offering complimentary bowls of water, dog treats and waste bags.
Expo City Winter will also hold celebrations on UAE National Day. This year marks 51 years since the UAE’s founding, and the National Day commemorations will run from 30 November to 2 December, and include a special concert on 2 December.
Festive fun awaits.
