LET’S BLUNCH AT MINA’S KITCHEN
Blurring the lines between breakfast and lunch, Mina’s Kitchen at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina is taking their food game up a notch with the introduction of The Long Breakfast. FACT’s Shabana Adam takes a seat…
Brunching might just be the epitome of weekend hangouts; you assemble the squad, pick a place that offers the best value for money, good vibes and great service. And voila, that’s your Friday afternoon sorted. But, what about Saturday?
For those of us who dedicate Friday to lie-ins and low-key socialising, Saturday is the day we want to go out and get our foodie fix. The culinary team over at Mina’s Kitchen in The Westin Mina Seyahi knows what we’re talking about.
We were introduced to The Long Breakfast this month; a four-hour, free-flowing breakfast promotion taking over the show to uplift your Saturday gatherings. From 11am to 3pm, there’s a sprawling “Blunch” experience dotted with unrivalled, tasty food that puts a spotlight back on breakfast classics alongside lunch favourites. Expect luxurious interiors, lush greenery, monochrome tiles, truly instagrammable details and a mouth-watering array of freshly-cooked breakfast favourites from across the globe. The foodie rendezvous is all the best parts of a laid-back morning meets glorious afternoon soiree where talented chefs serve up everything from scrumptious omelettes to moreish pastries, cereals and cold cuts to salads, pizza, biryani and desserts galore. The spread is so varied, it could easily give some of the city’s top brunches a run for their money. Live cooking stations are home to perfectly poached eggs, lip-licking chia puddings, Middle Eastern delights and even Asian specialities. Show stopping dishes such as Salmon En Croute and Roast Beef also make a grand appearance.
Those looking for a guilty pleasure or a super-healthy breakfast will be equally pleased as the buffet serves up everything from the full English breakfast experience and a tower of pancakes as high as you desire, to overnight oats with toasted pecans and cedar cinnamon honey and organic, cold-pressed juices. Traditional options like the waffles and crepes doused in maple syrup and the selection of croissants are a huge hit at the table.
We even get an omelette made at 1pm and engulf it all with a side of hash browns, grilled mushrooms and baked beans – it’s the most perfect plateful for a casual Saturday get-together. Exotic favourites are presented in the form of oysters to curries, scallops and more. We’d highly recommend the appetiser station with salads as well as the cheese corner with a lovely selection to satisfy all the cravings.
Having undergone a stunning renovation, Mina’s Kitchen is a throwback to dining halls of an era gone by. It boasts a whimsical feel and a stunning bar. The venue is expansive in size with high ceilings and plenty of seating options, so even when the place is full, you’ll still feel like you’re having an intimate dining experience.
To top it all off, fresh juices are prepared a la minute to quench your thirst (the apple juice is particularly good). There’s a great assortment of hot and cold drinks and anyone who wants to take it up a notch can opt for the premium package. The Oh Behave! Package comes with unlimited food and soft beverages such as free-flowing coffee and freshly-squeezed juices for AED145. Alternatively, diners wanting to treat themselves to a truly indulgent Saturday can choose the Yeh Why Not! package which is priced at just AED245 and serves up a glorious selection of beverages, including bloody mary, mimosa, spritz and hops.
The service at Mina’s Kitchen is impeccable. Staff are attentive and friendly without being intrusive. This is the kind of place where you get guaranteed quality and a chance to sit back, eat good food and chat away with your nearest and dearest, knowing that there’s no rush to leave. Sign us up! ✤
