The Nest by Sonara Camp: Exclusive eco-friendly desert escape opens

The luxury camp includes stargazing, sandboarding, shows and more.

Forget about glamping, it’s all about nesting. The Nest by Sonara Camp is opening in September, and offers an exclusive, eco-friendly overnight experience in the desert.

Nara Desert Escapes is the award-winning team behind the luxury desert restaurant Sonara Camp. Architect Gianni Ranaulo has expertly designed the 14 desert rooms – better known as nests – which have undulating roofs that resemble sand dunes, and blend beautifully into the desert landscape. The team are experts at creating unique experiences, which let guests wake up amidst the peaceful dunes and admire the surrounding Dubai Conservation Reserve.

Each nest includes a bedroom area, ensuite bathroom and an outdoor majlis where you can watch the stunning sunsets and sunrises. Plus, each room comes with a complimentary mini-bar and mudeef (helper) on hand.

Guests can choose to dine on-site and enjoy chef Franck Sanna’s tapas menu or at the neighbouring Sonara Camp, which is a short sand shuttle away.

Plus, desserts include chocolate and pistachio pie, strawberries dressed with basil and Syrian olive oil, and apple crumble with red berries.

During the launch month, guests who book a stay at The Nest by Sonara Camp will receive a complimentary Sky Safari. You’ll have stars in your eyes, as the evening tour brings to life the splendour of the stars and constellations, and includes an on-site astronomer.
