Alto 19 opens at Locke London Canary Wharf on Monday, 15 October 2026.
The restaurant comes from White Rabbit Projects, the group behind Lina Stores and Kricket.

Canary Wharf’s dining scene is heading upwards. Alto 19 will open on Thursday, 15 October 2026, bringing Mediterranean cooking, cocktails and late-night music to the 19th floor of Locke London Canary Wharf.
Created by White Rabbit Projects, the hospitality group behind names including Lina Stores and Kricket, Alto 19 marks the company’s latest collaboration with Locke. The partnership has previously produced Santa Joana in Lisbon, developed with chef Nuno Mendes, and Eve in Kensington.
Taking charge of the kitchen is Executive Chef Chris Dargavel, who arrives with serious London restaurant credentials. Most recently Head Chef at Daphne’s in Kensington, he previously spent eight years at J Sheekey and was part of the opening teams at Scott’s and Roux at Parliament Square.
The menu has been described as “deliberately unfussy”, with Mediterranean flavours, seasonal produce, wild fish and freshly made pasta at its heart. Small plates will include cacio e pepe gnocco fritto and crab fritti with aioli, while starters span vongole Vermentino bruschetta with Amalfi lemon, beef tartare and bluefin tuna crudo.
Pasta will play a starring role. Diners can look out for porcini agnolotti with Parmesan fonduta and black truffle, alongside braised beef shin with Barolo ragù. Larger dishes have been designed with sharing in mind, including salt-baked branzino, dry-aged ribeye cotoletta with fried garlic gremolata, and Sicilian sweet red prawn rice finished with cured lardo. Dessert continues the Italian influence with dishes such as caramelised citrus tart with mascarpone and chestnut honey.
Food, however, is only part of Alto 19’s appeal. As its name suggests, the restaurant sits high above Canary Wharf on the 19th floor of Locke London Canary Wharf. The hotel itself spans 19 floors and features 279 studios and suites, with expansive views across the docks, River Thames and London skyline.
The 100-cover restaurant will also feature a bar serving seasonal cocktails and wine, alongside a late-night music programme and DJs. A private dining room will cater to celebrations and group dinners, while the elevated location offers views towards The O2 and across East London.
With Canary Wharf continuing to develop beyond its business district reputation, Alto 19 adds another destination restaurant to the neighbourhood. Combining a chef with some of London’s best-known restaurants on his CV, a Mediterranean menu and a rooftop setting, the opening has all the ingredients for an evening that stretches well beyond dinner.
