Oysters, martinis and wine lead the menu at the Venning brothers’ new London bar, opening on 13 November.
Dalston’s bar scene is getting a new arrival from two familiar names. Brothers Max and Noel Venning, the founders of Three Sheets, will open Berryman’s on Friday, 13 November 2026. Located at 508 Kingsland Road, just two doors from their original cocktail bar, the intimate venue will centre on oysters, martinis and an evolving wine list.
The name has a personal connection. Berryman is the maiden name of the brothers’ mother, whose Cornish heritage also shapes the food offering. Her coastal roots provide a starting point for a bar that takes further inspiration from drinking spots in southern Spain and northern Italy.
On the drinks front, a rotating selection of martinis will sit alongside a Vesper, a white Cosmopolitan with gooseberry and other seasonal cocktails. The wine list will change regularly, giving returning visitors something new to consider with their oysters.
Head Chef Ethan Pack is overseeing a menu designed for grazing while standing at the bar. Cornish oysters take the lead, with accompaniments ranging from strawberry mignonette and gherkin granita to Kashmiri and clementine ponzu. A house hot sauce offers another option for those who prefer a little heat.
The cocktail theme continues with dirty martini crisps. Olive oil Sarriegui crisps will be dressed with juniper berries, kosseret tea, coriander seeds and olive powder, translating the drink’s savoury character into a bar snack.
Elsewhere, the menu takes a tour of European favourites. There will be 18-month-aged Comté with quince, coppa di Parma and giardiniera pickles, alongside a bikini sandwich. Pressed thin and toasted, the sandwich will be filled with jamón, ’nduja, Manchego and Gouda, making it a more substantial companion to a round of drinks.
The room will accommodate just 20 guests, all standing, with a marble counter and oak ledges providing space for glasses and plates. Low lighting will set the scene for an informal evening, and the bar will operate exclusively for walk-ins, with no advance reservations.
