The 40 seat Han & Han will open in Belgravia in November 2026.
The restaurant marks former Hakkasan Mayfair chef Jeff Tan’s first solo venture.
Seasonal tasting menus will feature dishes including dry-aged Peking duck with black truffle pancakes.
The chef’s first solo restaurant will serve modern Chinese dishes inspired by family and the flavours of home.
Former Hakkasan Mayfair chef Jeff Tan is stepping out on his own with Han & Han, a modern Chinese restaurant opening in Belgravia in November 2026. Occupying the former home of Michelin-starred French restaurant Roussillon at 16 St Barnabas Street, the new venture will combine seasonal cooking, traditional techniques and a personal tribute to the chef’s family.
That connection starts with the name. Han & Han takes one Han from Tan’s mother’s surname and the other from his full name, Jeff Seng Han Tan. It signals the thinking behind the restaurant, where the flavours of home and his earliest culinary influences will inform a contemporary Chinese menu.
Tan’s career spans more than three decades and several international kitchens. Born in Malaysia, he worked in Singapore before moving to London in 2004 to join Hakkasan Hanway Place. In 2010, he became chef de cuisine at the newly opened Hakkasan Mayfair, which received a Michelin star nine months after its launch.
He later led the culinary operation at Yuan at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai and worked on restaurant openings in Madrid. Away from restaurant kitchens, his private clients have included former French president François Hollande and former British prime minister Rishi Sunak. With the new restaurants, that experience will feed into a restaurant conceived under his own direction
The food will centre on seasonal tasting menus, with several signature dishes already announced. Among them is Peking duck dry-aged for 36 hours and served with homemade black truffle pancakes. Seafood dishes include Teochew-style wild seabream and ‘1986 wild king prawns’, while braised pumpkin with dry shrimp roe adds another element to the line-up.
With just 40 seats across two floors, the setting is designed to keep the experience intimate. The main dining room will occupy the ground floor, while downstairs will house a tea room and private dining room.
