The British carmaker’s new London flagship serves creative café classics and afternoon tea.

Jaguar is giving Londoners another reason to visit its new Knightsbridge flagship. Alongside the arrival of its all-electric Type 01, the British luxury car brand has opened Café Eighty-One, with a menu created by Chef Michael O’Hare.

O’Hare made his name at The Man Behind the Curtain in Leeds, where his inventive cooking earned a MICHELIN star. He now runs Inlamentation in Boston Spa and is also familiar to television viewers through Great British Menu. At the new Jaguar café in London, he applies that creative approach to the everyday pleasures of British café dining.

The menu takes familiar dishes in new directions. The bacon sandwich pairs cured Iberico pork secreto with spiced ketchup, dashi mayonnaise, mint and basil, all served in a glazed steamed bun. A lobster roll combines native lobster tail, garlic butter, Amalfi lemon mayonnaise and shredded iceberg lettuce. French onion soup features caramelised onion bone broth and a Comté and Beaufort whip, while eggs and brioche soldiers come with either shaved truffle and truffle bouillon or Exmoor caviar.

Afternoon tea is another highlight. The café’s sculptural oloid scones combine the elements of a cream tea in a geometric form that has also influenced Jaguar’s car design. Flavours include Strawberry Vanilla, Fig Yoghurt, Hazelnut Passionfruit and Peach Melba, with fillings ranging from strawberry jam and Madagascan vanilla mousse to fig confit and yoghurt mousse.

Guests can also book The Chef’s Edit, a £75-per-person experience for a minimum of two people. It begins with English sparkling wine or sparkling jasmine tea, followed by sandwiches, soup, a scone and a choice from the tea collection. The wider drinks offering includes English wines, single-origin coffee and tea cocktails. jaguar.com

Future plans include chef collaborations, seasonal experiences, tastings and Jaguar’s Taste Series. There is also plenty for design enthusiasts to explore: the flagship houses Jaguarscape, a space for evolving installations and cultural events, alongside an appointment-only Design Vault for personalising a car. Together, the café and showroom give visitors a new Knightsbridge address for lunch, afternoon tea and a closer look at Jaguar’s latest chapter.
