LAIKA presents Wildwood: The Exhibition opens at the Design Museum on 15 October 2026.
Visitors can see original puppets, costumes, sketches, props and miniature sets from the movie.
The exhibition also explores 20 years of LAIKA films, including Coraline and Kubo and the Two Strings.
Laika Studios is presenting Wildwood: The Exhibition, exploring the new movie’s unique universe.
The Design Museum are continuing their journey into exhibitions that give visitors a behind-the-scenes look of major movies, after two successful exhibitions honouring Tim Burton and Wes Anderson. Opening on 15 October, Laika presents Wildwood: The Exhibition will offer a close-up look at the magic behind the new movie.
This major new animation exhibition delves into the world of Laika Studios, the Portland stop-motion animator that is behind iconic films such as Coraline and Kubo and the Two Strings.
Centred on the studio’s new handmade movie Wildwood, the exhibition will offer a deep dive into the upcoming story, with props, costumes, models, puppets and miniature sets.
It will take visitors through the process of creating stop-motion movies, paired with audiovisual content and interactive installations explaining the work of the visual development artists, model makers and scenic painters.
The exhibition also features an area in the museum’s mezzanine that will share Laika’s story across twenty years of filmmaking, exploring Coraline, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings and The Missing Link.
The movie features the voices of Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan and Mahershala Ali, and follows a young girl who heads into a mysterious forest when her little brother is kidnapped by crows.

The world premiere of Wildwood will take place on 11 October at the BFI London Film Festival, before heading to cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 23 October.
