The Webster has officially opened its first hotel in Covent Garden. Overlooking Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the opening marks the debut of The Webster, a new design-forward lifestyle hotel brand in London.

The hotel is rooted in reconnection, combining curated design, literary inspiration and a programme of culture and community for guests to gather and truly relax.

The hotel is designed by the award-winning London-based architecture and interior design studio Red Deer. The space takes inspiration from magical realism, the literary genre associated with Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez. The design features contemporary notes with a sense of nostalgia, seen in bespoke furniture, expressive materials and artwork by British artists including Henry Ward and Emily Kirby. Italian-terrazzo-inspired flooring further adds to cultural elements throughout.

The hotel features 167 guestrooms, including three suites across 10 floors. Interiors feature terracottas and off-whites, inspired by historic interiors of literary salons and old publishing houses.

Quaint library nooks offer a space to read or work, whilst the outdoor lounge and terrace carry guests throughout the day from morning coffee to evening cocktails.

Culinary wise, the hotel offers three food and beverage destinations founded by hospitality trio Daniele Pampagnin, Jake Mason and Carmela Pia.

Carmelina’s is the hotel’s signature Italian-inspired restaurant. The 100-cover restaurant features an open kitchen, counter dining and a dedicated wine bar. Carmelina’s serves up fresh handmade pasta, seasonal produce and seafood led by Head Chef Simone Serafini.

Carmelina’s Al Banco is an all-day café-bar inspired by the neighbourhood bars of Milan.

Lastly, Carla’s is a late-night cocktail bar led by Bar Manager Peppe Corallo, which takes inspiration from the Italo-disco bars of Italy. The spot offers craft cocktails with live entertainment and events.

Beyond its hotel offerings, The Webster will host a cultural programming bringing together writers, artists, musicians and creatives through literary salons, artist residencies, performances and neighbourhood collaborations. This includes the Webster Book Club and The Daily Edit – a series that fosters connection with the local community with weekend brunch, guided runs, live music and cocktail pairing, coffee tasting and more.

The Webster includes two spaces that can hold up to 120 guests, offering settings for meetings, presentations, private dining, launches and receptions.

Joseph Turano, COO of The Webster, said: “From the beginning, we wanted The Webster Covent Garden to feel like a place you discover rather than simply check into. It’s a hotel, but it’s also a neighbourhood restaurant, a place for coffee, a late-night bar, a terrace, a book club and a space for people to come together. Opening our doors in London is the first expression of that idea, and we’re excited to see guests and locals make The Webster their own.”
