London’s theatre calendar has four more reasons to leave the sofa behind. The Young Vic has announced the final additions to its 2026/2027 season, with a programme that moves between documentary theatre, dark comedy, dance and immersive sound. Led by artistic director and CEO Nadia Fall, the latest line-up also takes performances beyond the theatre’s familiar stages, from London County Hall to a shipping container on The Cut.

Among the most significant additions is the UK premiere of The Pelicot Trial, created by Milo Rau and Servane Dècle. Taking place for one night only on Monday, 30 November 2026, the production will occupy The Chamber at London County Hall. A company of 30 actors and public figures will perform the documentary theatre piece, which draws on testimonies and written accounts from the trial. It honours Gisèle Pelicot’s decision to make proceedings public and the wider significance of her stand against sexual violence.

Over at the Maria Theatre, A Hunger Artist will run from 9 to 26 June 2027. Former Royal Ballet principal Edward Watson stars alongside performance artist Meow Meow in a reimagining of Franz Kafka’s short story. Director and choreographer Arthur Pita reunites with Watson following their Olivier Award-winning adaptation of The Metamorphosis, with Frank Moon providing live music. Combining dance, song and cabaret, the production examines obsession, sacrifice and the uneasy relationship between a performer and their audience.

Also heading to the Maria Theatre is the London premiere of What’s the F**king Point?, running from 2 to 24 April 2027. Created by disability-led theatre company FlawBored, the dark satire follows three friends caught up in diagnoses, shifting identities and medical bureaucracy. Samuel Brewer, Aarian Mehrabani, Chloe Palmer and Josh Roche share writing credits, with Roche and Zoë Templeman-Young co-directing. Beneath the comedy sits a recognisable question about the need to feel that we matter.

For something altogether different, DARKFIELD’s Eulogy will take audiences into a shipping container outside the Young Vic on The Cut. Running from 24 March to 17 April 2027, the experience unfolds in complete darkness, using binaural sound and speech recognition to conjure an imaginary hotel. With the visual world removed, voices, sounds and audience responses shape a disorientating journey through its unseen spaces.

Nadia Fall said: “I’m excited to announce four new additions to our current season, deliberately designed to offer something unexpected, with theatre that is literally and figuratively ‘outside the box’!”

Beyond the performances, the Young Vic has announced The Directors’ Cut, a programme offering development opportunities for directors, alongside an expansion of its Neighbourhood Theatre programme.

Booking opens on 7 October 2026. For The Pelicot Trial, Patrons+ priority booking begins at 10am, followed by public booking at 11am.
