A new members-only community retreat is coming to Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, and it has serious hospitality credentials behind it. Ras Amud in Oman is the first project from Discover Collection, the new hospitality group founded by former Six Senses president Bernhard “BB” Bohnenberger.
Opening in September 2026, Ras Amud will be located on the Musandam Peninsula, a coastal enclave often referred to as the Arabian fjords. Just a two-hour drive from Dubai, the retreat has been designed around privacy, well-being, slow travel and carefully curated cultural experiences.
The project will feature around 30 villas, set among cliffs, mountains and secluded coastal landscapes. With no neighbours, traffic or light pollution, Ras Amud aims to create a sense of escape that feels far removed from the pace of city life.

The retreat will focus on a slower, more mindful way of travelling. Experiences will include stargazing, regenerative health programmes and journeys rooted in the local culture and landscape. Rather than a traditional luxury resort, Ras Amud is being positioned as a community for members with a genuine interest in the destination.
Speaking about why he chose Oman, BB said: “I promised myself to only do projects in places that can’t be replicated, and this particular one I had my eyes set on for a long time. This won’t be a see-and-be-seen place where you compete for the best Instagram moments. Here, the only competition is with yourself. If you want to show off your handbag, you will hate us. But if you respect other human beings and don’t treat them differently because they’re a celebrity, then you are right for us. You will enjoy it.”
Discover Collection will focus on high-end properties paired with immersive experiences. The brand is aimed at members who want to connect with the places they visit in a more meaningful way. Following Ras Amud in Oman, additional projects are already planned for locations including the Swiss Alps, Mexico, Botswana and Ireland.
