Anar is headed to Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri this month

A pop-up with a difference awaits in Abu Dhabi.

The capital’s dining scene is one that keeps us on our toes – food festivals, new openings and pop-ups with personality to spare. Case in point? Anar’s upcoming pop-up at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri. Celebrating the vibrancy of both Persian culture and cuisine, the dinner will be prepared by the award-winning restaurant’s chefs, bringing a unique dining experience to Abu Dhabi diners from 14 to 20 November.

For the uninitiated, Anar is based in Souk Madinat Jumeirah and has been a favourite among the residents of Dubai for over 16 years, its name translating to ‘pomegranate’ from the Farsi language. The food here isn’t just about spices or cooking techniques – it is a crossroads of ideas, culture, traditions and passion that collectively narrate the opulent story of the Persian empire. Perfected by the restaurant’s chefs, each dish is rooted in authenticity and features the finest ingredients sourced from the region.

Anar pop-up

“I am very excited to showcase the delicacies we serve at Anar to the residents and guests of Abu Dhabi with this pop-up experience at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. At Anar, we believe that Persian hospitality is in the details; it is the perfect balance of friendliness and sophistication combined with gastronomic delights, cooked with love and reminiscent of childhood summers,” Chef Vali Forghani said about bringing the pop-up menu to Abu Dhabi.

Throughout the week, guests will have an opportunity to experience a specially curated à la carte menu featuring an array of crowd-pleasers – signature kebabs, Zareshk Polow, Kashk-o-Bademjan and a variety of lamb-based dishes included. A sharing Persian degustation menu will also be available presenting a selection of authentic starters, stews, kebabs and desserts for AED 498 for two people, including a grape drink pairing.

Come Thursday, 18 November, Abu Dhabi foodies are invited to join an exclusive one-off Anar grape dinner during which guests will enjoy a flavourful menu with a touch of luxury paired with fine Mediterranean grape drinks for AED 400 per person. The Anar pop-up in Abu Dhabi promises to turn into a hub of nostalgia, a home away from home for the Persian community that resides in the UAE’s capital, as well as a perfect escape for guests looking to indulge in Persian culture through a brand new experience. Nooshe jân!
