Art and culinary arts come together at Gallery 7/40

Serving European and Japanese cuisine, the new concept will debut on Palm Jumeirah next month.

If there’s one pairing that Dubai never seems to tire of, it’s that of art and cuisine. In fact, just earlier this month, we reported on the opening of a new French-Mediterranean restaurant with an arty edge at Address Fountain Views. And in no time, Palm Jumeirah will also be home to this fusion when Gallery 7/40 makes its debut at The Club at Palm West Beach.

Set to launch in February, the concept comes courtesy of hospitality group SOHO Family and will serve European and Japanese cuisine, an imaginative beverage selection, and a diverse collection of artworks from celebrated artists around the world. “Our project GALLERY 7/40 is where sculpture, photography, and painting fuse with the culinary arts. Drawing inspiration from Catalan modernist architect Antoni Gaudí and contemporary Italian designers, the interior design of Gallery 7/40 will be an evolving showcase of art in every form,” explains owner Dmitry Braude.

This will translate to custom mosaic tile flooring and Murano glass chandeliers in vibrant shades of blue, green and gold. “We will introduce a venue dedicated to artistic expression via exhibitions and collaborations with artists. We have planned a vibrant line-up of activations that will attract art lovers and guests who like to mingle with friends in classy environments.” The new venue aims to be distinct from the other dining concepts at The Club at Palm West Beach by featuring a bespoke culinary experience and a revolving art exhibition showcasing the works of both international and local artists.

Braude adds, “The colourful, playful, artistic approach to the décor, plating, glassware and team uniforms will be a unique experience unlike any other on Palm Jumeirah.” Guests can experience classic French, Italian and Japanese dishes while taking in its focal point – the art collection – in a colourful ambiance. In addition, Gallery 7/40 will offer an abundance of local seafood on a magnificent ice display caught daily by local fishermen. Once open, Gallery 7/40 will have a seating capacity of 300 with both indoor and outdoor spaces.
