Sponsored: Si Ristorante Italiano’s limited-time menu draws culinary inspiration from the gastronomic heritage of Italy’s Veneto region.
The old adage “go big or go home” immediately springs to mind when stepping into the cavernous Si Ristorante Italiano at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas. The family-friendly restaurant presents a semi-rustic look through simple wooden tables and tiled flooring, immediately capturing the feeling of a traditional Italian trattoria.
Adding to its repertoire of theme nights and dining events, Si Ristorante Italiano has launched its ‘taste of Veneto’ promotion, comprising a four-course menu of authentic Italian cuisine for AED 299 per person.
Veneto is the northeastern Italian region that stretches from the Dolomite Mountains to the Adriatic Sea, including the canals of Venice and the picturesque Lake Garda. Drawing culinary inspiration from the region’s gastronomic heritage, Si restaurants appealing new menu includes either dried cod with polenta or Venetian shrimp and carrot soup to begin. While the appealing middle course offers a choice between capon and veal tortellini served in an aromatic sage broth or slow-cooked cuttlefish served alongside soft polenta.
The main course invites diners to select from the Venetian delicacy of liver served with truffle crostini or Adriatic black mussels served with white grape and breadcrumbs.
It wouldn’t be an Italian meal without “dolci” and Si Ristorante Italiano’s dessert course presents a traditional layered tiramisu and a satisfying conclusion to the meal.
Aside from the impressive wood-fired oven which rotates pizzas as they cook, Si Ristorante also features a separate bar (ideal for a pre or post-dinner drink), an open kitchen and a Mozzarella bar. Wooden pizza paddles complete the look and feel of the cosy dining environment, with children actively encouraged to sit at the pizza counter to watch the flaring of the dough and the preparation of toppings.
Forgoing the fine dining setting the majority of Abu Dhabi restaurants are currently following in Italian cuisine, Si Ristorante sensibly keeps things casual with a family-friendly approach and honest ingredients as the primary focus. We’ll “Si” you there…
Si Ristorante Italiano is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 5pm to midnight, with the taste of Veneto menu available until 31 October 2021.
