Double Like in Dubai delivers burgers by jet ski

The innovative float through kitchen takes orders via an app and delivers them to local boats.

We’ve seen food deliveries come on everything, from motorbikes to drones. Now, that’s set to change in Dubai, as Double Like have launched jet ski food deliveries. The burger brand is switching things up, as it creates what it calls a float through.

Double Like is a homegrown concept, which started in Umm Suqeim in 2020. The floating kitchen is unique, as it caters to customers at sea. With no dine-in options, it operates on the basis of orders that can be picked up or delivered by jet ski. So, if you’re on the shore and have got the munchies, this should definitely float your boat.

Double Like specialises in fast food – we’re talking cheese burgers, rib burgers and wagyu beef burgers. The menu also includes chicken tenders, cornflake shrimps, grilled cheese toasties and lobster rolls. As the new jet ski delivery launches, new items have been added to the menu, which include milkshakes, fresh juices and ice cream.

If you want to try out the new service, download the marine e-commerce app, Aqua Pod app. Place the order from your boat, and the food will be whizzed over to you. Double Like is not the only brand to be sea-bound. The popular supermarket chain, Carrefour, recently launched a floating shop.

Nadeem Bouzid, managing partner of Double Like, explained: “We are extremely excited to be operating offshore, and to be able to capitalise on the lucrative upcoming tourism wave, as we operate in one of the world-class marine infrastructures.

“The notion of having a floating mobile kitchen that services customers who were never a target in our original plan because their catchment space is on-water, is already a new win for us. We anticipate that together we are going to have a successful journey with hopefully further exciting developments to come.”

 We’ll double tap that.
