Erth has debuted in the capital’s cultural district

Through key ingredients and a communal dining experience, the restaurant pays tribute to Emirati hospitality.

Considering the significance of hospitality in Arab culture, a new opening by the name of Erth in Abu Dhabi has us intrigued. Dedicated to carrying forward the vibrant and generous spirit of Emirati hospitality, it’s aptly located between Qasr Al Hosn (the oldest standing structure in Abu Dhabi) and the Cultural Foundation.

Erth

As expected, the rich flavours, aromas and culinary traditions of the UAE take centre stage at Erth. Combining local values with creative cooking techniques, the curated menu presents a vast array of modern and traditional specialities – a selection of healthy meals, tasty desserts and artistic beverages included. Proudly showcasing the region’s culinary diversity, Erth’s chefs expertly prepare everything from fresh salads to local specialties like deconstructed date cake and sweet luqaimat. International delicacies with an Emirati touch – such as Bzar-marinated beef short ribs, juicy Wagyu beef striploin, and fresh torched salmon crudo – also await.

Erth

Passionate about using locally sourced ingredients, Erth’s chefs also prioritise the use of fresh, handpicked produce from farms across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Hatta and beyond. As for the interiors? They were designed by UAE-based architectural designers BONE Studio, in collaboration with a number of renowned regional personalities such as Aljoud Lootah, Khalid Shafar, Zuleya, and Toru. Erth was designed to not only evoke a sense of nostalgia, but also serve as a relaxing hideaway that nourishes both the body and soul.

Erth

What this translates to is a warm and cosy space that is intricately carved out of the raised floor, and inspired by the look and feel of a traditional majlis to make diners feel more welcome. Complete with a picturesque waterside terrace overlooking Qasr Al Hosn, Erth sits at the crossroads of the country’s rich past and bright future.
