FACT First Look: BB Social Dining in Abu Dhabi

The new location is opening in Rosewood Abu Dhabi on Al Maryah Island.

The Asian restaurant BB Social Dining is making a beeline for the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. The Dubai-born brand has fans across the city, from the FACT team to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Now, you’ll be able to enjoy BB Social Dining in Abu Dhabi, as the new restaurant is scheduled to open before the end of the year. We’ve got a sneak peak of the new venue, and here’s what you can expect.

BB Social Dining in Abu Dhabi is coming to a fittingly fancy location, Rosewood Abu Dhabi on Al Maryah Island. The luxury hotel is already home to an exciting list of restaurants, which include Dai Pai Dong, Hidden Bar, La Cava and Glo. This is the third opening from BB Social Dining, as the original opened in DIFC, Dubai in 2017, and the second opened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia earlier in 2022. 

BB Social Dining in Abu Dhabi is beautifully designed with nautical vibes, gold touches and pretty foliage – who doesn’t love an indoor tree? The coral sofas, navy chairs and white curtains all work together to create an elegant space.

Its design will stay true to the DIFC mothership, inspired by contemporary European culture, whilst the award-winning modern Eastern cuisine by chef and co-Founder Alexander Stumpf will introduce its now cult Bites, Baos, Bowls and BBQ signature dishes to Abu Dhabi patrons.

Speaking on the new opening, Spero Panagakis, co-Founder of BB Social Dining stated: “We have established ourselves in the region and are grateful to say we have felt welcomed from day one. We opened BB Social Dining as a home-grown brand in the over-competitive F&B market of Dubai and we knew that if we did not design and create a concept for the community, we would run the business to the ground.

After five strong years and a few challenges, we are honoured that we can expand to the capital city of Abu Dhabi and express further our desire to institute local homegrown brands for the people and ensure that the UAE is further recognized on the global stage for its sustainable and local approach.”

If you want a meal fit for royalty, then make like Sheikh Hamdan. When the Crown Prince first visited BB Social Dining, he shared images on Instagram of BB baos, cauliflower popcorn, crispy sprouts and edamame hummus. Following his visit, the restaurant posted: “What an honour it was to have @faz3 back for lunch yesterday! Always a privilege and blessing to have your support.”
