Reif Japanese Kushiyaki introduces a new lunch menu and a competition to visit Egypt

When it comes to unconventional Japanese street food, those in the know head to Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in Dar Wasl.

The homegrown concept from acclaimed Dubai-based chef Reif Othman has garnered a loyal following since opening in August 2019. The casual restaurant serves an appealing menu of sushi, ramen, kushi (skewers) and arguably one of the best sando interpretations in the city.

Offering something new this May, Reif and his team of culinary maestros have introduced a Japanese set lunch in the form of Teishoku Trays. Available for dine-in on weekdays from 12pm to 2pm, the four-course menu served on a tray offers miso soup, salad, a choice of donburi bowls (including stir-fried Angus beef, assorted raw fish or vegetable Japanese curry) and dessert. The lunch offer is priced at AED 85.

To make the offer even more appealing, chef Reif will be giving one lucky diner flights and a hotel stay in Egypt to celebrate the first international opening of Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in Cairo.

The prize for one person and a friend includes economy class return flights between Dubai and Cairo, two nights at a five-star hotel, and dinner at the first franchised Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in Cairo’s financial district hosted by Reif Othman on 16 July.

To be in with a chance of winning, all diners at Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in Dar Wasl between 19 May and 16 June will be entered into the prize draw with their bill receipt. Multiple visits allow for multiple entries and chef Reif will pick the winner on @reifkushiyaki via Instagram Live on 17 June 2021.

“Often here in Dubai, restaurant competitions are run on Instagram with no real long term value other than an increased online following for a short period. We wanted to change that by rewarding our most loyal customers instead. By designing the mechanics to encourage dining in our flagship restaurant, we are shining the light on both this venue and with the prize, our first franchised operation in Cairo,” said Reif Othman, chef-owner of Reif Japanese Kushiyaki.

As if you needed another excuse to visit the restaurant, The Experience by Reif Othman, a four-seater omakase tasting menu concept, continues at Dar Wasl. For May, the dishes are inspired by the Japanese holiday of Golden Week, with two omakase tasting menus available – eight dishes for AE D350 and 12 dishes for AED 550 (food only).

If you’re yet to visit the winner of ‘Best Japanese – Casual Dining‘ at the FACT Dining Awards Dubai 2020, now’s your chance.
