A new Jazz lounge has landed on the Palm

SOLA Jazz Lounge is here to, well, jazz up the jazz scene.

Dubai’s jazz scene often leaves much to be desired, but a brand new venue is changing the narrative, one tune at a time: SOLA Jazz Lounge. Located at luxury beachfront resort Raffles the Palm Dubai, the venue is set to cater to jazz enthusiasts through the likes of funk, soulful jazz, gypsy jazz and Latin music, each complemented by a delicious selection of cocktails and finger foods.

Set in an ambience that’s intimate, relaxed, and embellished with rich jewel tones, SOLA is open five days a week –Tuesday through Saturday – and open late, offering a rotation of talented musical artists to keep even the pickiest of jazz fans captivated. Duos and trios will perform on the weekdays, with popular artist Claudia Patrice performing soul, jazz and Motown on Tuesdays, Nutella Riot Trio performing gypsy jazz on Wednesdays, and Carrie Gibson’s jazz-funk band Nuvo Soul on Thursdays. Come weekends, JR Trio will feature a different guest every week for their Latin jazz act on Fridays, while Henrick Solera Duo will showcase their vocals and talent in keys on Saturdays.

SOLA Jazz Lounge

SOLA’s signature sling cocktail is the first signature sling that can be enjoyed with or without spirits, while holding the integrity of its flavours. Unlike the original Singapore Sling, this is the first to use aquafaba to achieve the unique micro foam on top, making it enticing for vegan guests. The cocktail version is stirred in with Sipsmith and features rich spices from the roots of Middle East (think: cloves, cinnamon, saffron and coriander) blended using a unique French cooking method called sous-vide. Naturally sweetened with acacia honey, it strikes the perfect balance between spicy, sweet and sour.

Other menu items include delicious finger foods such as Crispy Fried Squid in aromatic panko with jalapeño and spicy mayo and Rock Shrimp Tempura with togarashi and black truffle vinaigrette. Incidentally, SOLA is managed by award-winning bartender Zlato Kihler, who has been pursuing his passion of bartending since 2008. As for his ambition? To elevate the culinary experience at this new jazz venue through innovative cocktails made using noteworthy techniques. Yes, please.
