The best places to celebrate Oktoberfest in Abu Dhabi and Dubai

It’s that time of year where we don our Lederhosen, sip on your favourite hops and indulge in Bavarian delicacies in celebration of Oktoberfest.

GLO at Rosewood Abu Dhabi

Oktoberfest at GLO offers an a la carte menu in four distinct parts. ‘From the Smoker’ grilled dishes include hand-pulled beef knuckle sandwich, beef short ribs, BBQ brisket platter and assorted Bavarian sausages served with apple sauerkraut and mustard. The fowl in the ‘From the Rotisserie’ section includes roasted chicken and duck. ‘Bavarian Specialities’ include cheese or onion spätzle, Bavarian potato salad, gurkensalat, obatzda, and pretzels. Saadiyat Beach Golf Club 

Get your lederhosen and enjoy eleven days of Oktoberfest celebrations on Saadiyat Beach Golf Club’s scenic Dolphin Lawn. Experience German culinary delights, starting from AED 79 for one German snack with a draught of German hops. Available from Wednesday 29 September to Saturday 9 October.

The Retreat at The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa

The Westin Abu Dhabi celebrates Bavarian tradition with a traditional festival full of German culinary experiences. The Retreat welcomes its guests with free entrance, indoor and outdoor seating areas and authentic Bavarian music. A special a la carte menu will feature pretzel baskets, sauerkraut, German potato salad, grilled Bratwurst and apple strudel. For AED 200, you can enjoy six half-pints paired with six Bavarian bites. Available daily from 12pm to 1am until Saturday 16 October.

Waves Bar & Outdoor Lounge at Novotel Abu Dhabi Al Bustan

Waves Bar is celebrating Oktoberfest all month long with a special menu featuring five traditional German delicacies. Tuck into German potato salad (AED 32), pretzel platters (AED 30), German Bratwurst sausages (AED 54), German ribs (AED 65) and traditional apple strudel (AED 34), or add two draft hops for an additional AED 48. Available daily, from 11am to 1am.

Brew House at Citymax Business Bay

Bringing a bit of fun and revelry from Germany to Business Bay, Brew House is celebrating Oktoberfest with an array of German dishes and beverage deals that will have you dusting off your dirndl and lederhosen. The Brewtober menu features traditional Bavarian fare, including Kartoffel soup, supersized pretzels and semmelknodel. Main courses such as Sauerbraten braised beef back ribs, slow-roasted wolfsbarsch, chicken and veal schnitzel, hackbraten and spätzle will be served with the mandatory sauerkraut and potato dumplings for added authenticity. Available until Thursday 14 October. AED 185 for three pints and a main course.

Foxglove and Soho Beer Garden at Meydan

Dust off those lederhosen and get ready to party Deutsche style at Foxglove and Soho Beer Garden’s Oktoberfest celebrations. Indulge in authentic Bavarian bottled hops, or for those who prefer to clink their mugs, Soho has you covered with 1000ml mugs on tap for AED 69. Dishes on the menu include German pretzels served with a selection of traditional dips, pan-fried chicken schnitzel and Veal bratwurst sausages served with fries, onion gravy and sauerkraut. To complete the experience, there will also be live music. Friday 1 October to Saturday 16 October.

Saffron Brunch 2.0 at Atlantis The Palm

Dubai party brunch, Saffron 2.0, will be bringing Oktoberfest to Dubai. Expect German favourites, including jagersplatzle, roast chicken stew and German braised duck, alongside Bavarian beverage stations. Entertainment will come from a DJ, Bavarian-inspired dancers, singers and magicians. Friday 1 October, from 1pm to 4pm. AED 455 (house beverages) and AED 495 (sparkling)

The Arena by Phileas Fogg – Oktoberfest Brunch

Celebrate the German traditions with Oktoberfest Brunch and tuck into a German-style food platter, including pretzel with honey mustard sauce, smoked beef brisket, barbecue chicken and warm Apple Strudel. Friday 8 and 15 October, from 1pm to 4pm. AED 249 (soft beverages), AED 349 (house beverages) and AED 399 (premium beverages).

The Scene at Pier 7

Enjoy a Bavarian-style menu including German classics with a British twist. Dishes include a grilled beef Bratwurst in a German roll, chicken Schnitzel with traditional coleslaw, Bratwurst sausage and mash, The Scene’s smash burger, apple strudel and pretzel bun with salted butter. Topgolf Dubai at Emirates Golf Club

Topgolf invites guests to celebrate Oktoberfest at their casual sports bar. The Yard. Guests can take advantage of various food and beverage options, featuring selected German hops and a signature pretzel platter. Expect one-litre hops at AED 99 or two one-litre hops and a jumbo pretzel board for AED 299. Available Friday 23 September to Friday 30 September.

Wavehouse at Atlantis The Palm

Oktoberfest at Wavehouse features Bavarian-inspired dishes from AED 45 as well as pop-up draught stations on the venue’s extensive terrace. Highlights on the food menu include homemade Brezen pretzels, Reiberdatschi with apple sauce, apple strudel, double German chocolate cake and black cherry and raspberry Kuchen. There will also be live acoustic sets from a German Oompah band adding to the Bavarian atmosphere. Thursday 23 September to Saturday 2 October.
