The project is expected to be completed by 2028.
Sharjah’s next headline attraction is taking shape at Aljada. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and slated for completion in 2028, Madar Mall blends sweeping architecture with family-friendly experiences, including a cinema, an ice rink and choreographed dancing fountains.
Sharjah’s development story continues to accelerate, and Madar Mall is set to be the showpiece of Aljada. The location is primed for easy access, with connections to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Dhaid Road, Sharjah International Airport and the upcoming Etihad Rail station.
The design from Zaha Hadid Architects takes its cue from the “moment when a water droplet first hits the earth”. Expect a composition of elliptical buildings arranged within landscaped green spaces, creating a fluid skyline that is bold yet welcoming. The aesthetic aims to marry futuristic form with a community-first spirit, inviting visitors to wander, pause and connect.

Spanning 1.1 million square feet across three levels, Madar Mall will bring scale and variety to the area. Plans include more than 400 retail stores and 80 dining outlets, providing local and international brands with a platform to shine. Entertainment is central to the project, which features an 11-screen cinema, a full-sized ice rink, a modern gym, and an observation tower with a restaurant offering elevated dining and panoramic views. Dancing fountains will add spectacle to the central plaza, providing a natural gathering point for families and visitors.
Madar Mall will complement the experiences already found at Madar, including the region’s largest skate park, a trampoline park, the Zad food district and multiple playgrounds. Once open, the mall is expected to welcome around 20 million visitors annually, positioning it among the emirate’s most popular attractions.
Construction is scheduled for completion by December 2028. The wait may be a little while, yet the scale and ambition suggest a new Sharjah landmark in the making.
