A Warner Bros. theme park is coming to the kingdom
The family-friendly destination is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
Lights, cameras, rides. A new Warner Bros. theme park is opening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The world’s first Discovery Adventures centre is set to become a family-friendly entertainment destination. Located in Al Hamra, it is the first attraction of its kind in the kingdom.
Saudi Discovery Adventures by Warner Bros. and Saudi Entertainment Ventures (Seven) will be an indoor destination spanning a massive 3,000 square metres. The venue will be home to bowling, cinemas, karting, shops and casual as well as fine-dining restaurants. The experiences include a Clip’N Climb hall, spinning wheel, Transformers-inspired ride, and a wave house offering indoor surfing. Plus, the space will include gardens and walkways.
Abdullah AlDawood, Chairman of Seven, explained: “The arrival of Warner Bros. Discovery as a key partner to develop exclusive indoor adventures centres in our entertainment destinations marks a new milestone in the evolution of Saudi Arabia’s entertainment and reaffirms the Kingdom’s position as a leader in the entertainment sector.
“With the mandate to bring truly world-class experiences to the kingdom, we have carefully curated distinctive Discovery experiences. They will add to the diverse portfolio of Seven’s entertainment attractions in the Kingdom which will enhance people’s lifestyles.”
Not content with just the capital, there are plans to open 21 venues in 14 cities. Seven is investing more than SAR 50 billion into theme parks. Plus, other locations include Abha, Al-Ahsa, Al-Kharj, Buraidah, Dammam, Jazan, Jeddah, Khobar, Madinah, Makkah, Taif, Tabuk and Yanbu.
Saudi Discovery Adventures isn’t the only theme park in the works. Qiddiya will be like the Disneyland of Saudi Arabia. Located in the southwest of the country, it will be packed with entertainment aplenty. We’re talking water parks and theme parks, including Six Flag Qiddiya with the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster.
