The season will feature exciting cultural showcases and performances.
Ithra is setting the stage for a season of culture in Dhahran. Also known as the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, the landmark has announced the launch of Ithra Winter as part of the inaugural Khobar Season. Running from 29 October to 31 January, the programme promises a varied line-up of performances, exhibitions and experiences for all ages. The opening unfolds across four days, with visual and musical showcases animating Ithra’s gardens and signalling a citywide celebration of creativity.
Across the season, visitors can explore a calendar of more than 130 programmes spanning arts and heritage, film, architecture and design. The schedule blends cultural showcases with hands-on workshops and interactive installations, encouraging guests to learn, make and play. Families will find activities designed for younger audiences, while enthusiasts can dive deeper into specialist talks and maker sessions that map the region’s evolving cultural landscape.

Music is a major draw this winter. Performances from the Chinese Orchestra take centre stage, while Tarabband, the Children’s Orchestra and a rotating line-up of live acts bring global sounds to Dhahran. The series is curated to highlight cross-cultural exchange, pairing traditional instrumentation with contemporary arrangements and inviting audiences to encounter new styles across back-to-back sets.
Ithra Cultural Days: Spain adds an international spotlight. The activation invites visitors to step into Spain’s artistic and sporting spirit through theatre, music and visual art. Expect exhibitions and stage productions that speak to the fusion of tradition and modernity, with Spanish artists, athletes and cultural figures sharing personal stories. El Mirkato Espanol, a lively market inspired by Spain, rounds out the experience with artisan stalls and entertainment.

The season also celebrates culinary craft. The Winter Market brings together a food festival, an artists’ market and a designers’ market. Guests can browse handmade pieces, join storytelling exhibitions and sample dishes that transform ingredients into art. A dedicated Culinary Experience explores seasonal flavours through tastings, demonstrations and chef-led moments that showcase the region’s talent.
With a packed programme of performances, exhibitions and markets, Ithra Winter Season is set to be one of the Kingdom’s standout cultural events. Plan your day at Ithra and discover a calendar that connects people through creativity.
