Ithra leads the waterfront opening celebration on Friday, 13 November 2026.
More than 40 events, a seaside celebration and Ithra’s winter programme are putting the Saudi city in the spotlight.
Al Khobar Season 2026 lands on the coast with a citywide programme that celebrates local heritage, live entertainment and waterfront living. Running until 5 February 2027, the programme combines live entertainment, culture, sport and family activities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.
The season launched on 30 October 2026, with its waterfront opening celebration scheduled for Friday, 13 November 2026. Led by Ithra, the event takes the theme “Alkhobar: A Story Written by the Sea” and draws on the city’s maritime heritage. A boat parade and fishermen’s performances will bring that relationship with the water into focus.
The evening’s lineup pairs poetry from Saudi poet Abdul Latif Al-Mubarak with music by Choralla. Traditional Saudi Ardah will also feature, before musician Mohammad Rubat closes the celebration with a national musical piece. Visual storytelling, lighting effects and live artistic performances will add to the waterfront setting.
There is more to discover at Ithra Winter 2026, which takes place at Dhahran Expo from 12 to 28 November 2026. This marks the programme’s first outing at the venue, with a mix of live music, performances, creative activities, and workshops for all ages.

Interactive spaces form another part of the programme, bringing the public, specialists and culture lovers together to explore ideas and learn through participation. For visitors planning around the November events, the waterfront celebration and the Dhahran Expo programme offer two distinct ways to experience Ithra’s contribution to the season.
With the wider calendar continuing into February, Al Khobar Season 2026 gives the Eastern Province another reason to draw winter visitors. Whether your plans centre on catching a performance, joining a workshop or spending an evening by the sea, the city is making a strong case for a place on your itinerary.
If Riyadh and Jeddah have long led the country’s “seasons”, Khobar’s coastal edition proves the Eastern Province is ready to share the spotlight.
