As the temperatures drop, Riyadh leans into the outdoor season, and the capital is once again giving the city a reason to get out and explore. Aldirah Winter has officially returned, transforming the historic destination into a cosy, culture-filled escape that feels less like a one-off pop-up and more like a winter-long ritual.
Running from 1 November 2026, Aldirah Winter is designed for repeat visits and offers 128 days of events to coincide with Riyadh Season. Across its plazas, terraces and gathering spaces, the programme rotates, the experiences shift, and each weekend brings a mix of art, food, performance and community.
The experience is split into themed zones known as Dirwazas, each with its own personality. At Al Moaiqliah Plaza, live performances share the stage with art and auctions. Located within the four Moaiqliah quarters, the square offers several reasons to linger, whether you are watching a performance or browsing the activities. Food carts will also be on hand for a bite between events.
If you like to browse, Al Qaisariah Plaza is the ideal stop for anyone keen to explore the area’s markets. The open-air space will host bazaars and Souq Al Ezab alongside live stations showcasing traditional dishes. An arts and heritage parade completes the line-up, giving visitors opportunities to combine shopping with an evening of entertainment.
For a closer look at the district’s past, AlDirah Majlis will host storytellers and experts for conversations about its history, culture and traditions. Topics range from merchants’ stories and journeys to discussions of art and heritage, offering a chance to hear the experiences behind the neighbourhood and its trading history.
The programme continues at AlDirah Stage, the main performance space for the winter celebration, where comedy, games and competitions are all on the agenda.
Families should make time for AlDirah Park, where sensory experiences and optical illusions sit alongside games, workshops and challenges. Play and discovery shape the activities here, while winter seating areas and dining options offer places to pause between exploring the attractions.
When it is time to slow down, Al Moaiqliah Terrace overlooks the activity in the plaza below, pairing dining with views of the neighbourhood.
AlDirah Winter forms part of a much larger Riyadh Season programme. Across the capital, Boulevard World showcases international cultures, Boulevard City hosts shows and entertainment experiences, and Wonder Garden offers family attractions.
