This exhibition blends global masterpieces with regional voices.

There’s always something happening in AlUla. From desert installations to intimate gallery exhibitions, the ancient city has established a reputation as one of the region’s most exciting cultural hubs. And this time, Arduna is heading to AlUla.

Arduna is a new exhibition that’s bringing global art conversations to AlUla. Running until 15 April, it’s part of this year’s AlUla Arts Festival. The exhibition is staged within the galleries of the upcoming AlUla Contemporary Art Museum, offering a rare opportunity to experience world-class art in a space that seamlessly blends ancient surroundings with forward-looking design.

Arduna

Arduna translates to “our land,” which is also the theme that the exhibition follows. It’s a collaborative project between Saudi Arabia’s cultural institutions and one of Europe’s leading modern art museums, bringing together more than 80 works from across Saudi Arabia and the international art world.

Arduna unfolds across multiple thematic sections, taking you through imagined and real landscapes. The setting itself plays a huge role, with AlUla’s rock formations and deep history shaping how the artworks are experienced.

Arduna

There’s a strong emphasis on storytelling, with each piece contributing to a conversation about land, identity, and the environment. It touches on some of today’s most pressing global issues, including climate change, urban expansion, and migration.

The exhibition features a mix of modern masters and contemporary artists. Alongside existing works, Arduna also introduces newly commissioned pieces created specifically for the exhibition. Several artists developed their projects during residencies in AlUla, which means their work is directly influenced by the region’s landscape, culture, and stories.
