AZIMUTH is set to return to AlUla next month

The music festival will celebrate Saudi National Day with music from East and West.

With Saudi National Day celebrations on the horizon, AlUla is once again where it’s at, hosting the return of the AZIMUTH music festival. Taking place from 22 to 24 September, it will celebrate the union of Eastern and Western minds through music, art and gastronomy, bringing together 21 artists and DJs from around the world. AZIMUTH marks the launch of the AlUla Moments calendar (which includes flagship festivals and marquee events), with special sunset and sunrise kicking off the festivities.

The event will take place in the same stunning desert canyon that recently hosted Sarab, the site-responsive art exhibition of Desert X AlUla 2022. And with some of the artworks remaining in the location, AZIMUTH guests will have an opportunity to experience the art in the landscape firsthand. . Incidentally, the first edition of AZIMUTH took place in AlUla in March 2020 and marked the end of the second successful season of Winter at Tantora. International acts included French composer Jean-Michel Jarre, The Chainsmokers, and Tinie Tempah among others. Regional crowd-pullers featured Hollaphonic, DJ Molekaah & Sara G, Omar Basaad and Hamza Hawsawi.

The 2022 edition of AZIMUTH returns with a fresh approach, bringing the best of the nation’s popular DJs together with international acts to celebrate the blend of cultures and promote continued dialogue between East and West. The event will start in the evening of Thursday, 22 September and finish with the sunset session on Saturday, 24 September. With AZIMUTH taking place over the Saudi National Day holiday, KSA residents can make the most of the long weekend and take advantage of the stunning landscapes that AlUla is known for. Between the sunrise and sunset events, attendees can refuel at the various zones where food and drinks will await.

Alternatively, guests can explore all that AlUla has to offer by visiting the heritage sites – including the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra – or try a handful of the outdoor adventures at AlUla Adventure Hub. Be it ziplining, abseiling, rock climbing, or Via Ferrata & Canyon Hammock, AlUla’s adventure activities are perfect for beginners and a unique way to appreciate its extraordinary landscapes. Artists for AZIMUTH will be announced on Thursday, 1 September on the large screens at the Riyadh Boulevard, with a surprise awaiting visitors to the popular precinct.
