Diriyah Season 2022 hosts amazing sports, entertainment and restaurants
The festival takes place from 20 October in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Saudi Arabia knows how to party. Saudi Seasons is hosting its next edition of Diriyah Season 2022, and it’s your chance to enjoy world-class entertainment, sports and restaurants. As the festival kicks off in the historical site of Diriyah from 20 October to 22 February 2023, here’s what you can expect.
Saudi Seasons includes a range of festivals such as Riyadh Season, Jeddah Season and Sharqiyah Season, which take place throughout the year. The first Diriyah Season took place in 2019, and this year’s promises a jam-packed line-up for all the family.
Diriyah Season is hosting exciting events including Formula E Championship, Clash on the Dunes heavyweight championship, and the kingdom’s first international tennis tournament. In Diriyah, the new dining destination Bujairi Terrace is currently under construction, and we are hoping it gets unveiled during the festival.
Judging from last Diriyah Season, we are expecting the festival to include concerts from local and international acts. In the past, the festival welcomed performers including DJ Snake, Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug, and Amima Talib.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, chairman of the Diriyah Season committee, explained: “We are delighted to announce the imminent launch of the Diriyah Season 2022 in the historic city, which features a great ancient historical heritage and deep-rooted geography and is listed on UNESCO’s World Urban Heritage sites.”
CEO of Diriyah Gate Development Authority, Jerry Inzerillo, added: “We are excited to see large numbers of visitors from all over the world in the new season, and we look forward to satisfying visitors’ passion for sports and entertainment experiences.”
Diriyah is famous for being the original capital of Saudi Arabia, as it was once the seat of power for the Al Saud family. During the 18th and 19th century, it became a politically important site and was home to the founder of the first Saudi state, Mohammed bin Saud.
Today, Diriyah is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Al Turaif, which gives visitors an insight into the kingdom’s past. With Diriyah Season around the corner, it’s your chance to experience old and new in one exciting location.
