David Guetta unveils new set recorded at AlUla
The French DJ took to Instagram to tease his latest venture.
David Guetta is a name that’s synonymous with EDM. Having graced stages across the Kingdom on numerous occasions, Guetta’s latest adventure took him to the ancient marvel of AlUla for a different kind of concert.
Guetta revealed his trip to AlUla in a cryptic Instagram post captioned “Soon.” The video showed David standing in front of the world’s largest mirrored building, Maraya. It also featured vast desert vistas that set the stage for an epic performance.
The following day, Guetta excitedly shared news of his set in AlUla, aptly named The Monolith, which he described as one of the most remarkable heritage sites on Earth. Transforming the desert expanse into an expansive dance floor adorned with lights and fire, Guetta blended the desert setting of caverns and sand with pulsating beats and stunning visuals to create an immersive audiovisual experience. Beyond its sheer spectacle, this performance also marked a milestone for the EDM scene in Saudi Arabia.
The Monolith performance is now available to stream on YouTube. The video starts off on a journey through the rocky mountains of the region, after which Guetta makes an entrance on a 4×4. He then takes to the stage while blasting U2’s With or Without You to begin his set. What continues is a musical celebration in the middle of the majestic Saudi desert.
David Guetta has achieved remarkable success in the world of EDM. With a string of chart-topping hits and multiple Grammy Awards to his name, he has solidified his position as one of the most influential DJs and producers of the time.
