Luxury seekers and wellness enthusiasts, your Red Sea experience is about to reach new heights. Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coastline has welcomed another major luxury arrival. Equinox Resort AMAALA is now open, turning one of AMAALA’s most anticipated hotel announcements into reality.
Located in Marina Village at Triple Bay, the adults-only resort is Equinox Hotels’ first property outside the United States. The opening also introduces the brand’s performance-led approach to hospitality to Saudi Arabia, with fitness, recovery, nutrition and sleep forming the foundations of the guest experience.
The resort features 128 rooms and suites across six accommodation categories, including two penthouse suites, alongside 21 branded residences. Foster + Partners is responsible for the architecture, while Rockwell Group has created the interiors, with both drawing inspiration from the Red Sea coastline, marine environment and surrounding Hijaz Mountains.
The property sits at the heart of AMAALA Marina Village, with views towards Hijaz Cove, the marina and AMAALA Yacht Club. The design incorporates four open courtyards inspired by traditional regional architecture, using shade, landscaping and water features to help naturally cool the spaces. Guests arrive beneath a distinctive floating canopy that creates one of the property’s most dramatic architectural moments.
Wellness, unsurprisingly, takes centre stage. The sprawling spa is focused on recovery; its centrepiece is the proprietary Equinox X Circuit, a seven-stage regeneration journey incorporating advanced wellness technologies. Treatments and facilities include cryotherapy, infrared sauna, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, hydrotherapy and contrast temperature therapies.
If you want to sweat in style, the signature Equinox Fitness Club is the place to be. Plus, there is also a beautiful beach club and four outdoor swimming pools, including a lap pool, leisure pools and a rooftop magnesium salt pool overlooking Triple Bay, AMAALA Marina and AMAALA Yacht Club.
Even the bedrooms have been engineered around recovery. Equinox Hotels’ sleep science platform incorporates circadian lighting, acoustic isolation and climate controls designed to create cooler, darker and quieter sleeping environments. Rooms range from 45-square-metre Core Rooms through to the 180-square-metre Penthouse Suites, with accommodation looking towards the marina, bay or Red Sea.
Food follows the same performance-minded philosophy. Restaurants include SoHo Souk, an all-day destination with Levant-inspired influences; SAMA Ai, combining Japanese and Middle Eastern flavours; Mint + Co, offering teas, dates and superfood-led refreshments; and EQX Den, a more intimate venue hidden within the spa grotto.
Equinox Resort AMAALA arrives as AMAALA continues its transformation into a fully operational destination. Once complete, this Red Sea enclave will feature more than 1,600 hotel rooms across nine resorts, alongside branded residences, wellness facilities, a marina, restaurants and retail.
