This homegrown Indian restaurant is Riyadh bound

Mohalla will open at The Esplanade on Tuesday, 8 March.

With the Hindi word mohalla translating to ‘neighbourhood’, the d3-based Indian restaurant of the same name pays homage to the rich culinary cultures across India, looking to its authentic cooking styles for inspiration. Now, the homegrown concept is expanding, opening its first international outpost in the Saudi capital next week. Partnering up with Unified Hospitality Company, Mohalla will take up residence at The Esplanade in Riyadh.

The restaurant will house two levels of seating, offering both indoor and al fresco options. While guests will experience a taste of eclectic India at every turn, design elements like hand-painted street scenes, earthy-hued furnishing, an open tandoor area, and a statement bar are expected to be highlights. The open kitchen, meanwhile, will allow diners to catch a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes action, much like the street food outlets of India.

Mohalla Riyadh’s menu is expected to echo that of the Dubai branch, except for a few special kebabs curated exclusively for the new venue. Signature dishes here includes the likes of Raj Kachori, Avocado Papdi Chaat, Keema Pao, Spicy Chili Chicken, Rayalaseema Prawn Curry, Tender Chicken Kebab, Raan Biryani, and the always-popular Jalebi.
