Jeddah Fashion Hub showcases Saudi streetwear culture

From streetball to skateboarding, the festival combines art, music and sports.

Put your most fashionable foot forward. Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea port city has launched the Jeddah Fashion Hub, which brings together an exciting range of events. Running until February 23, it showcases 50 emerging and established local fashion designers, plus art exhibitions, live music and sports events.

Jeddah’s Fashion Hub takes place under one roof in Muhammadiyah, which is near King Abdulaziz Road. The event shines a spotlight on street culture, especially the fusion of fashion and sport. Not only will you find a collection of items ranging from skateboards to sports shoes, but also beauty, jewellery and perfume products.

Basketball enthusiasts will be excited to hear that the British basketball player Joel Henry will make an appearance. There are even fashion shows with a twist – a fashion show on a basketball court, anyone? Plus, there are basketball ball shows in which players shoot hoops over camels.

Throughout Jeddah Fashion Hub, there are boxing, skateboarding and streetball competitions. Budding fashionistas can join the panel discussions and workshops, which offers an insight into the streetwear scene from industry experts.

The festival also welcomes more than 35 local and international DJs, which helps create a buzzing vibe. Plus, there are live radio broadcasts and recorded radio shows covering cultural and social commentary.

Jeddah’s Fashion Hub has been organised by Wayfashion, which is famous for creating local and international cultural events. General admission costs SAR 89, and VIP tickets cost 250. The VIP tickets include a welcome drink, access to the VIP lounge as well as backstage DJ area, and fast track access to all of the sports zones. Jeddah, you’re looking good.
