The concept combines California cool with Parisian chic.
Jeddah is home to celebrity chefs and homegrown concepts. Now, it is set to welcome the Dear Duck. Located in La Paz Plaza, As Salamah, the concept combines California cool with Parisian chic, and specialises in duck-inspired dishes.
Dear Duck’s full menu has not yet been unveiled. So far, we know that it will be an all-day eatery, and open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Plus, there will be coffee, desserts, mocktails, and bites after lunch, before dinner and late-night bites.
Dear Duck recently hosted a brunch party, and we spotted dishes with fun names, from The Brownie Meets Sundae to The Truffle Shuffle. Plus, dishes included Le Steak Frites de la Maison, Sage Brown Butter Pasta, and Smoked Buffalo Wings.
Dear Duck boasts a charming aesthetic. The venue is easy to spot, thanks to its eye-catching yellow exterior. Take your pick from indoor and outdoor seating. The interior includes booths that are great for groups, plenty of plants, and an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work. Plus, there are shades of yellow throughout across the lamps, knobs, sofas and tiles.
The brand’s logo includes a duck in a beret, which fuses together playful and Parisian touches. On Instagram, the images include a yellow duck, which wouldn’t be out of place in a bathtub, wearing a red beret. On the wall, we found a framed image of a duck in a beret and bow tie, all while eating a baguette. Plus, the plates have personality, and include the phrase “dear duck” and images of ducks and hearts.
The concept comes to the Red Sea city from chef and restaurateur Nihal Felemban, who is also behind The Lucky Llama in Jeddah.
