World-famous Japanese restaurant ROKA is opening in Jeddah

The venue will be located in the buzzing Jeddah Walk.

We have some exciting foodie news. Limited, the powerhouse dining group behind Zuma, are bringing ROKA to Jeddah Walk. Opening this summer, it marks the brand’s debut in the city.

ROKA Jeddah will showcase the brand’s award-winning Japanese robatayaki concept and unique style of cooking. At the heart of the menu is the robata grill, which is a traditional Japanese cooking method. Inspired by fishermen cooking fish over charcoal on boats, it brings to life authentic Japanese flavours.

We’re expecting ROKA Jeddah’s menu to include classics, from the Lamb Cutlets to Bekudopoteto (a baked potato with yuzu cream and chives). Plus, sashimi, salads, maki and more.

ROKA Jeddah

So far, we know that ROKA Jeddah will be designed by Noriyoshi Muramatsu, the founder of Studio Glitt. The décor will boast a contemporary Japanese vibe, and ROKA’s signature textures of metal, stone and wood.

Rainer Becker is the co-founder of ROKA and Zuma. In 2002, he launched Zuma, and in 2004, he launched ROKA. The restaurants started in London, but today they can be found across the world in cities including Dubai, Hong Kong, Miami and New York.

ROKA Jeddah

Limited has partnered with MJS Holding to launch ROKA Jeddah. Plus, this isn’t ROKA’s first venture into Saudi Arabia. In 2021, ROKA made its debut in the kingdom with ROKA Riyadh in As Sulimaniyah. Not only has it received critical acclaim, but also a local fanbase.

Rainer Becker, Co-founder and Creator, of ROKA, explained: “We are excited to bring the unparalleled ROKA experience to the vibrant city of Jeddah, marking a significant milestone in our continued expansion in the Middle East markets. Jeddah offers a cosmopolitan F&B landscape, reflective of the city’s rich history and cultural influences from across the globe.”
