Jeddah Season is so much more than family-friendly entertainment

Five award-winning culinary concepts are hosting pop-ups as we speak.

As Jeddah Season 2022 (that’s 60 days of plays, concerts, exhibitions, immersive entertainment and more) continues, so do the multitude of culinary offerings. A handful of award-winning concepts are currently hosting pop-up restaurants at this citywide event – Emmy Squared Pizza, Hoppers, Le Comptoir de Nicole, Le Vesuvio, and Madeo included. Visitors can enjoy limited menus to sample the finest of what each restaurant has to offer, which spans dinner during weekdays, as well as lunch and dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Here’s what to expect at a glance.

Emmy Squared Pizza

American pizzeria Emmy Squared has gained critical acclaim and amassed a loyal fanbase across the United States and the United Arab Emirates thanks to its square-shaped pizzas, unique toppings, signature sauces, fluffy dough, crispy bottom, and cheesy ‘frico’ crust. Visitors at Jeddah Season can try out a variety of Emmy Squared’s signature Detroit-style pizzas including Roni Supreme, The Emmy, and Hot Chicken as well as its double-stack burger, Le Big Matt. The menu also features a selection of small plates and salads, such as Eggplant Parm, Crispy Chicken Crunchers, and Kale Italian Salad, plus Emmy Squared’s popular pretzel-bun sandwiches.

Hoppers

Taking inspiration from Sri Lanka’s village toddy shops and streetside snacks, Hoppers serves Sri Lankan and South Indian-inspired dishes. Staying true to its philosophy of family-style feasting, the pop-up restaurant at Jeddah Season is serving a selection of signature dishes – everything from the Sizzling Beef Rib Fry and Deviled Paneer to Goat Roti and Chocolate Biskut Pudding is expected to make an appearance.

Le Comptoir de Nicole

One of France’s trendiest bistros, Le Comptoir de Nicole brings with it the brand’s unmistakable spirit of the Côte d’Azur to Jeddah. Visitors will have the chance to indulge in its authentic Mediterranean dishes and most sought-after recipes, which are sure to transport them to the French Riviera. Here, the menu has something for everyone, including signature dishes such as Salade Niçoise, Carpaccio du Soleil, Burrata Fraîche, Salade d’Artichauts, Le Coquelet, Le Double Cheeseburger. Crème Brûlée à la Pistache, and more.

Le Vésuvio

Beloved Italian restaurant and pizzeria Le Vésuvio is bringing the diners of Jeddah the very best of traditional Italian dishes straight from Cannes. Named after the famous Italian volcano Vesuvius, it promises a modern Italian dining experience centred around authentic products and high-quality ingredients from Italy’s rich culinary heritage combined with Northern Italian cooking techniques. The pop-up’s menu offers an assortment of Le Vésuvio’s signature dishes – think: Minestrone and Caprese di Burrata as starters, followed by Lobster Spaghetti, Lasagna Al Forno, and Truffle Pizza as mains.

Madeo Ristorante

Famed West Hollywood eatery Madeo Ristorante is serving authentic cuisine from the north of Italy, following on from the recent success of its pop-ups during Riyadh Season and Jeddah F1 Grand Prix. Owned and operated by the Vietina family, Madeo is not only one of the most coveted restaurants in LA, but also renowned for serving epicurean pleasure by way of family recipes passed down through generations. Visitors of Madeo’s pop-up at Jeddah Season can sample traditional Tuscan dishes, including a selection of antipasti such as Carpaccio di Manzo, Eggplant Parmigiana, and Bufala alla Caprese. Over in the mains, a variety of pasta dishes reside alongside the likes of Risotto ai Porcini and Filet Mignon on the menu.
