The festival will also welcome Adrien Brody and Juliette Binoche to Jeddah.
Michael Caine and Sigourney Weaver are set to be honoured at this year’s Red Sea International Film Festival, which returns to Jeddah’s historic Al Balad district from 4 to 13 December 2025. The event, now in its fifth edition, continues to cement Saudi Arabia’s position on the global film map, drawing acclaimed talent from across the world.
The festival’s prestigious Honouree Award celebrates artists whose work has left a lasting imprint on international cinema. This year’s roster underlines that ambition, recognising talent across countries, genres and generations. Alongside Michael Caine and Sigourney Weaver, honourees will include Hong Kong action cinema pioneer Stanley Tong and French-Algerian filmmaker Rachid Bouchareb, each applauded for their contributions to the language of film.
Michael Caine is a two-time Academy Award-winning English actor whose career stretches across several decades. From gritty British dramas to Hollywood blockbusters, he has delivered performances that have become part of cinema history.
Sigourney Weaver remains one of Hollywood’s most distinctive and versatile performers. Known for her powerful screen presence and a career that spans science fiction, drama and independent cinema, she is being celebrated in Jeddah for her significant and sustained contribution to the industry.
Rachid Bouchareb, a renowned director, screenwriter and producer, is acclaimed for his emotionally resonant and politically engaged films. His inclusion reflects the festival’s commitment to championing important voices from the Arab world and beyond.
In addition to the honouree tributes, the festival will host a series of In Conversation sessions. Confirmed so far are Indian star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, American actor Adrien Brody and filmmaker Sean Baker, who will share insights into their craft, careers and creative journeys.
Juliette Binoche will attend as part of the Kering Women in Motion program, which will present its first panel at the Red Sea International Film Festival. Established in 2015 in Cannes, the initiative shines a light on the talent and diversity of women working both in front of and behind the camera. The panel in Jeddah will also feature Saudi filmmaker Shahad Ameen and Palestinian American actor and filmmaker Cherien Dabis, and will be moderated by the Red Sea’s Director of International Programs, Finn Halligan.
